Inside the Making of the 2022 Florida Derby Trophy by D'Argenta

On Saturday, April 2, 2022, White Abarrio and Tyler Gaffalione raced in the Florida Derby Cup at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. At the end of the race, they won the Curlin Florida Derby Trophy, a cup designed by Simón Abraham from D'Argenta. A behind-the-scenes look at the making of one of the most coveted trophies in Horse racing in the world.

The new trophy design by Simón Abraham for the Florida Derby is modeled to resemble a rough diamond that is about to show its true brilliancy after being cut. Such as the winner of the Florida Derby will be propelled to the Kentucky Derby and fame. 

A striking silver elephant sculpture is featured prominently in the foreground of a modern living room. The sculpture's textured skin and raised trunk bring a dynamic sense of life and energy to the space, complementing the vibrant colors of the abstract painting in the background.
